The fib secretariat has its offices on the campus the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne), which is situated to the west of the city of Lausanne on Lake Geneva ("Lac Léman").

How to get to Lausanne from abroad
Switzerland's main airports are in Geneva and Zurich. Direct trains run from these airports to Lausanne at least twice per hour. For detailed information: www.rail.ch.
Trains arrive at Lausanne main station; some trains also may stop in "Renens" (west of Lausanne, closer to the EPFL).

How to get to EPFL from Lausanne
By public transport
From Renens (see above), take the metro (often referred to as 'Metro-Ouest' or 'TSOL') to the 'EPFL' stop.
From the Lausanne main train station, take the 'Metro-Bus' (MB) to the 'Lausanne-Flon' station, then take the metro ('TSOL') to the 'EPFL' stop. (It is also possible to walk to the 'Lausanne-Flon' station: follow the uphill pedestrian street 'Rue du Petit-Chêne', across from the train station.)
By car or taxi
Follow 'Route du Lac' (also called 'Route Cantonale') along the lake (going towards 'Genève'), to the EPFL campus.

Our office number is GC A2 424 and is located on the second floor, axis A, of the Civil Engineering Section (designation GC (Génie Civil)) of the EPFL.
