Early registration deadline extended for 8th International Symposium on Utilization of High-Strength and High-Performance Concrete

fib Medals of Merit and Honorary Memberships awarded


The 2008 fib Medal of Merit was awarded to Peter Schiessl during the opening session of the recent fib symposium in Amsterdam. Honorary Membership was also bestowed on Álvaro García Meseguer. A detailed report can be found in the June 2008 issue of fib-news and in the fib press release.

Call for papers - deadline extended

Abstracts for the 2009 fib symposium, "Concrete: 21st Century Superhero", are now being accepted until 30th June 2008.

The event, which takes place in London from 22 to 24 June 2009, will provide an international forum to debate and showcase innovations in concrete design and construction, and examine how concrete has developed into a cost-effective, sustainable structural material.
