The Presidium consists of the President, the Deputy-President, the Immediate Past-President, four elected members, the two Deputy-Chairmen of the Technical Council, up to two further co-opted members and the Secretary General (ex officio). The elected members serve a four year term and may be re-elected for a second term. The co-opted members will be elected by the Presidium on the recommendation of the President for the duration of his time of office.

The Presidium meets several times per year on invitation of the President. It

  • acts as the executive committee of the association
  • initiates the technical promotion of structural concrete through the association's various bodies
  • may delegate special tasks to ad hoc committees
  • decides on venues and dates of fib events (congresses, symposia, etc.)
  • decides on support to non-fib events
  • decides on the admission of members to the association and on the conditions
  • makes the awards of honours and medals of different types
  • appoints the Secretary General, who directs the secretariat
  • appoints the Editor-in-chief of the Journal
  • may issue byelaws and detailed regulations for all aspects not covered by the statutes

President

The President is elected by the General Assembly for two years and should have served as a Deputy-President for the preceding two years. Subsequently he/she serves as the immediate Past-President for a further two years.

Deputy-President

The Deputy-President is elected by the General Assembly for two years.
