Call for papers: fib symposium, London, June 2009

Abstracts are now being accepted for next year's fib symposium, on the theme: "Concrete: 21st Century Superhero". The symposium will take place from 22 to 24 June 2009, in London, U.K., and will address the following main topics:

1. Sustainability
2. Durability
3. Materials
4. Structure and construction
5. Design and Analysis

Authors are invited to submit 300 word abstracts relating to these topics as soon as possible through the symposium website, www.fiblondon09.com.

This essential event for engineers, designers, contractors and researchers will provide an international forum to debate and showcase innovations in concrete design and construction. It will examine the evolution of concrete into a cost-effective, sustainable structural material, the development by the concrete industry of solutions to meet design needs, and the future of concrete structures.

Technical tours will take advantage of the current construction boom in London, allowing visitors access to some of the most pioneering projects in the city.
