fib symposium, London, June 2009

"Concrete: 21st Century Superhero", the 2009 fib symposium organised by the UK fib group and JCI, will take place in London from 22 to 24 June 2009.
This three-day event will be an essential forum for all persons involved in concrete design and construction. Leading engineers, designers, contractors and researchers will examine the evolution of concrete into a cost-effective, sustainable structural material, the development of solutions to meet design needs, and the future of concrete structures. 

With 350 abstracts submitted, the symposium organisers are confident that the quality and scope of the technical presentations will contribute to the success of the event. The topics addressed will fall within the symposium's main themes:  sustainability, durability, materials, structures & construction, design & analysis.
