Call for papers: fib symposium, Prague, June 2011

Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2011 fib symposium, on the theme: "Concrete Engineering for Excellence and Efficiency". The symposium will take place from 8 to 10 June 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic, and will address the following main themes:

* New Model Code - expected impacts and practice of use
* Concrete and construction technology - transfer of experience
* Modelling and design of outstanding and innovative structures
* Structures integrated into environment in a balanced way
* Combination of structural concrete with other materials

Authors are invited to submit abstracts relating to these topics by 1st April 2010 through the symposium website, www.fib2011prague.com. 

The event will take place at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, a new venue located near the center of the city, which now ranks among the biggest congress centres in the Czech Republic. A commercial exhibition will be held in parallel with the symposium, providing an ideal opportunity for companies to display their products and services.

Prague, with 2000 years of history, is well known as one of Europe's most beautiful cities, offering visitors numerous memorable sights. The bridges that span the river Vltava create an extraordinary gallery of the masterpieces of the Czech builders and engineers from the 14th century up to the present day. Prague already has a successful history as a venue for fib events, having hosted both the 1970 FIP Congress and the first fib Symposium in 1999.
