fib is pleased to welcome two new National Member Groups as of 2012: South Africa and South Korea, bringing fib's national members to a total of 41.
The National Member Groups (NMG), and the General Assembly of delegates who represent them, play an essential role in the functioning and governance of fib, making such important decisions as the election of officers and the approval of statutes, resolutions, Model Codes, voting rights, and budgets. NMGs also serve as a contact point for fib in their respective countries, so that their local community of engineers can have regular access to information about the association's publications and events, as well as a channel for national views to be fed back to fib for discussion and further development.
