    The knowledge developped and shared by the fib (fib Bulletins, fib events, fib workshops, fib courses, etc.) is entirely the result of the volunteer work provided by the fib members.

An fib Model Code 2020 workshop will take place in Cape Town on 24 November 2016.

Several fib members will be taking part in this event. Prof. Harald Müller will give the opening talk. Prof. Joost Walraven will give an introduction to fib Model Code 2010, highlighting the new developments that were incorporated in it. Prof. Vyatcheslav Falikman and Prof. Norbert Randl will then discuss future developments.

Dr. Stuart Matthews will then introduce the aspirations for fib MC2020. Prof. Giuseppe Mancini will discuss ways to advance the reliability concepts and models for existing concrete structures. Mr. Frank Papworth will address ways to advance the verification of durability of new and existing structures. Prof. Tamon Ueda will examine conservation and remedial work.

Prof. Hans Beushauen will address the issues with existing concrete structures in Africa. Prof. Walraven will then draw a technical roadmap for fib MC2020 and Mr. Gerrie Dieteren will outline the procedure for fib MC2020. Prof. Hugo Corres Peiretti and Prof. Beushausen will conclude the workshop with overview remarks.
