A Bridge between Research and Practice

The knowledge developped and shared by the fib (fib Bulletins, fib events, fib workshops, fib courses, etc.) is entirely the result of the volunteer work provided by the fib members.

fib members come from all facets of civil engineering, including academia, design engineering and the industrial and scientific world.  The fib offers multiple categories and membership levels, which allow national groups, corporations, associations, universities and individuals to take advantage of membership benefits at a level commensurate with their budget and needs.

The fib is structured as a federation, which now includes 45 member countries (also known as statutory members) representing all the continents.  Please visit our National Groups page for information on joining as a statutory member. The organisation also has approximately 1000 corporate and individual members from around the world.

fib membership is valid for the current calendar year, starting in January and ending in December. If you are a first-time members applying in the last months of the year, please contact the fib Secretariat to clarify whether the membership application is for the current year or for the following year.
