Dear Colleagues,

The fib journal Structural Concrete offers an open access option called OnlineOpen.

Beginning 1 January 2020, authors affiliated with participating Swedish Bibsam institutions may publish primary research and review articles in any of Wiley’s fully gold Open Access or Wiley’s hybrid, OnlineOpen journals at no further charge to the author. This is subject to availability of sufficient funds in eligible Bibsam institutions' Wiley Open Access Accounts.

To publish without having to pay additional Article Publication Charges (APCs), the article's corresponding author must be from an eligible institution and the article must have been accepted on or after 1 January 2020.

To be eligible:

  • Your manuscript must have been accepted on or after 1 January 2020
  • You must be the corresponding author who is affiliated with an eligible Bibsam institution at the point of acceptance. (If you are no longer affiliated with an eligible institution at the point of acceptance of your paper, you do not qualify.)
  • You must publish open access (in a fully gold OA journal or a hybrid journal that offers OnlineOpen).
  • If publishing in a hybrid journal, you must order OnlineOpen at the point of acceptance by using our order workflow as described online. (If you don't order OnlineOpen initially, your manuscript will be published under the traditional closed access model. You may order OnlineOpen retroactively, but once your paper is published in Early View or In Issue online you are no longer eligible to publish OnlineOpen at no charge.)
  • All primary research and review articles qualify. (Other article types e.g. letters, editorials etc. are excluded.)

Open access benefits include:

  • High visibility all articles are immediately, freely available online
  • Easy compliance with open access mandates with Creative Commons licenses
  • Reuse and immediate deposit of final article on any website or repository
  • Copyright retention – You retain the copyright for your article at all times
  • Automatic export to PubMed Central/Europe PubMed Central (PMC) when appropriate
  • High-quality and authoritative publishing standards with rigorous peer-review

With kind regards,
The fib Secretariat
