An fib-PCI joint Model Code for Design and Assessment of Concrete Structures workshop will take place during the PCI Convention and National Bridge Conference in Denver, USA on 21 February 2018.

fib President Hugo Corres Peiretti will present the fib vision for the Model Code 2020 and the way North America participates in its development. Larbi Sennour – Head of the fib USA National Delegation – will address the participation of the USA in the work. fib Commission 10 member Agnieszka Bigaj-van Vliet will discuss the priorities of the MC2020 development. fib Commission 3 member Raphaël Steenbergen will present the safety format for new and existing structures and Emily Lorenz will examine the Sustainability aspect of the work.

In the afternoon, Gary Klein will address shear and fib Commission 2 co-chair Ozzie Bayrak will examine shear design and assessment in the MC2020. SK Gosh will discuss seismic in ACI and Giuseppe Mancini – fib Italian National Delegate – will explore seismic design in the MC2020. Agnieszka Bigaj-van Vliet will present the roadmap for the MC2020 and a plenary discussion on the integration of codes for new and existing structures will follow.
